How GotALink works

Lots of companies reward existing customers for referring new ones — and give the new customer a bonus too. Most people sign up without one because they don’t know anyone with a link. GotALink fixes that.

If you’re about to sign up

  • With the Chrome extension, GotALink notices when you’re on a company it supports and shows a small badge if someone can refer you.
  • Open it to see exactly what you’d get, what the person referring you gets, and any eligibility rules.
  • If you want it, choose Get referral. GotALink picks one eligible community member and shows you whose referral you’re using.
  • Continue, and GotALink opens their genuine referral link. That’s it — the company handles the rest.

No extension? Search a company on the website instead.

If you already have referral links

  • Add a referral: choose the company and paste your personal invite link.
  • GotALink checks the link against that company’s real referral format before it goes live.
  • When someone needs one, GotALink matches them with a community member — taking turns so everyone gets a fair share.
  • Pause or remove your referral any time.

What GotALink knows (and doesn’t)

GotALink knows when it matched you with someone and when you opened their link. It doesn’t know whether the company approved your signup. You can tell us you signed up, and the referrer can confirm they got their reward — we show those separately and never call a click a conversion.

Who pays the rewards?

The company does, under its own referral terms. GotALink doesn’t create referral programs or pay rewards, and doesn’t charge either side.
