GotALink collects as little as it can to run a fair, safe marketplace.

The extension

Downloads the list of supported company domains and matches the current tab against it on your device.
Only when a tab matches a supported company does it ask GotALink for that company’s referral details. Other browsing never leaves your device.
Doesn’t read page content, inject scripts into pages, or change links.
Stores on your device: a random install ID, your sign-in session, the cached domain list, your recent referral matches and your settings. Removing the extension deletes them.

Your email address (to sign in) and the display name you choose.
Referral links you list, referrals you’re matched with, and whether you opened them.
The country your request comes from, as reported by our hosting provider, so you’re only matched with referrals valid where you are.
For extension users: the random install ID, extension version and browser.
Product events such as “referral requested”, with small properties like the company. We don’t record page URLs or browsing history. We don’t store IP addresses; rate limiting uses a one-way hash of them.

Only to run GotALink: signing you in, matching referrals, preventing abuse and improving the product.
People you refer see your display name; they never see your email. Referrers never see who they were matched with.
We don’t sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with data brokers.
Service providers that process data for us: Cloudflare (hosting and database) and Resend (sign-in emails). If you choose Google sign-in, Google tells us your email address.
The use of information received from the extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Sign-in codes expire after 15 minutes. Sessions expire after 30 days on the web and 180 days in the extension, or when you sign out.
Your account, listings and referral history are kept until you delete your account.

You can edit or remove your listed referrals from your dashboard at any time.
To delete your account and its data, or to get a copy of it, email support@gotalink.link from the address you sign in with. We’ll do it within 30 days.
GotALink isn’t intended for children under 13.
